42 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) were delivered to RosRAO, a subsidiary of the Russian state atomic energy corporation, Rosatom, for the decommissioning of nuclear submarines. To ensure safe operations, on-site trainings were conducted with RosRAO personnel. During the first operations, reactor compartments of dismantled submarines were moved to a storage facility. RosRAO switched from a rail-bound transport system to the SPMTs to be more flexible, while maintaining a maximum degree of safety and reliability.
