Cronin Movers Case Study
RCSI
Stewart Construction was seeking to appoint a moving specialist company to support the rigging, lifting and positioning of a Generator Set weighing 8120kgs (EGW) and associated elements from one location to another on the access road on the east side of the Beaumont Hospital Campus.
What was involved
The project involved instrumental planning, project management and a professional moving service from a dedicated team of Cronin Movers heavy lift specialists, reporting into Stewart Construction project manager James Cronin.
The project required the provision of a space saver forklift with 1.8m long blades and 80t mobile crane. The Generator Set required rigging, slinging and lifting by crane and loading to a flatbed truck before being transported to its new location. The reverse process was used by rigging, slinging and lifting using the crane from the flat-bed truck to the ground. We positioned our machine moving skates and used a Space Saver Forklift to maneuver the generator set into new position as directed and agreed with the Stewart Construction supervising site engineer.
The Outcome
The project was a complete success and the client was extremely happy with the level of service and expertise provided by the Cronin Movers team.
